The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Announced Imposed Ban on Filipinos Entering Country wit

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT ALERT The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that they will impose a ban on Filipinos entering their country with a H2-A and H2-B visas.

In a notice posted in the Federal Register, the DHS stated that they are banning the entry of additional Filipinos with H2-A and H2-B visas mainly due to “severe overstaying” and human trafficking concerns.

Their statement read, “The Philippines has a high H-2B overstay rate. In FY 2017, DHS estimated that nearly 40 percent of H-2B visa holders from the Philippines overstayed their period of authorized stay.”

H2-A visa is a temporary visa granted for foreign agricultural workers while H2-B visas are for non-agricultural workers.
